Trump Trashes RKF Jr. Over Vaccine Stance: The Global Vaccine Activism Organizations Connected to His Campaign

Trump's Save American PAC Chair is Susie Wiles, who has significant ties to Big Pharma and Gavi: The Vaccine Alliance.

In a recent statement on Truth Social (see below), Trump expressed a preference for Biden over RFK Jr and criticized the latter’s views on vaccines as “fake.” This has sparked questions about Trump’s refusal to acknowledge concerns about covid vaccines.

Notably, Trump had previously tweeted about a link between vaccines and autism back in 2014. Many are wondering what has changed Trump’s mind about vaccine safety.

Tom Renz, a Trump supporter, has raised concerns about the influence of campaign leader Susie Wiles, a key figure behind the scenes in Trump's campaign. Wiles has strong connections to Big Pharma through her work at Mercury LLC, a company representing major pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer and Gilead, as well as Gavi: The Vaccine Allience and the UN Foundation.

From Mercury’s announcement of Wiles being hired as Co-Chair:

Wiles successfully managed Rick Scott’s first campaign for governor of Florida and also ran Ron DeSantis’ campaign for governor and led his transition team. In 2016 and 2020, Wiles served as the Florida strategist for the campaigns of President Donald J. Trump. She has spent decades working to recruit and elect conservatives at the federal, state and local levels. Wiles has also represented multinational, national, state and local clients before the federal and Florida governments. She currently chairs the Save America PAC.

Former Congressman Moffett first joined Mercury in 2020 after an extensive career in government and the private sector. Moffett served as chairman of the House Subcommittee on Environment, Energy and Natural Resources. He was also the leading Democratic government affairs professional at the global law firm Mayer Brown and a top executive at The Monsanto Company.

Mercury LLC bills itself as follows:

Mercury is a high-stakes public strategy firm. We provide results for the world’s most successful companies, leading advocacy groups, governments, political parties, NGOs, and prominent public and political figures.

Mercury LLC appears to be a subsidiary of Omnicom Group Inc., a major marketing communications firm. While Mercury LLC claims to be bipartisan, Omnicom Group is actively promoting corporate left politics through extensive activism, including climate change campaigns, Pride programs, support for Ukraine, and extensive DE&I initiatives. This begs the question: Why is their subsidiary Mercury LLC working with Trump’s PAC chair?

For example, Omnicom’s website states that “44% of all hires in 2022 were BIPOC” (Black, Indigdenous, People of Color), and their code of conduct includes advice to not just work on projects with people you know or are comfortable with, as that might indicate unconscious bias towards others. Omnicom’s case studies include a campaign to get men to do more laundry in India.

Omnicom’s Pro Bono Work to Suppport Global Vaccination

Omnicom also provides pro bono services to Gavi: The Vaccine Alliance, which Mercury LLC also lists as a client. Gavi, also known as the Gavi Alliance, is a global health partnership that aims to increase access to immunization in lower-income countries. It was created in 2000 and is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Gavi works with various partners, including governments, the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the World Bank, and others, to provide vaccines to children in need around the world.

One of Gavi’s biggest areas of focus is to vaccinate unvaccinated children, which they call “zero-dose children.”

Gavi, like many global initiatives, has “strategies” and “Goals” with ambitious targets for 2030:

As many as one-in-ten children in Gavi-supported countries do not receive a single-dose of routine vaccines. To reach these missing millions in the 5.0 Strategy, Gavi will bring a much stronger focus on reaching the most marginalised by strengthening primary healthcare systems, building and sustaining community demand, addressing gender barriers and using innovation to ensure that immunisation services reach these children. The goal: to reduce the number of zero-dose children by 25% by 2025, and by 50% by 2030.

What exactly is a zero-dose child?

DEFINING THE ZERO-DOSE CHILD

Zero-dose children are those that have not received any routine vaccine. For operational purposes, Gavi defines zero-dose children as those who lack the first dose of diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis containing vaccine (DTP1).

An under-immunised child is defined as those missing the third dose of diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (DTP)-containing vaccine (DTP3).

Missed communities are home to clusters of zero-dose and under-immunised children. These communities often face multiple deprivations and vulnerabilities, including lack of services, socio-economic inequities and often gender related barriers.

While connections to Gavi may not reflect the personal views of Susie Wiles, it is possible that these corporate ties (especially if Gavi is paying Mercury, despite getting free services from Omnicom) might be influencing the Trump campaign’s communications strategy. As such, it appears that Trump campaign strategists have chosen to promote vaccine acceptance and distance Trump from any anti-vaccine comments he has made in the past.

In his most recent post, Trump reacted to an interview between Kennedy and Bill Maher, criticizing Kennedy's perceived liberal views and questioning his political alignment as an Independent. Trump highlighted Kennedy's allegedly contradictory statements on vaccine safety and effectiveness, contrasting his skepticism with Maher’s defense of vaccines during the interview. Trump concluded by asserting that Kennedy’s candidacy does not align with Republican values and urged his followers to support the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement in the upcoming 2024 election.

I actually watched, first time in a long time, ratings challenged Bill Maher’s really boring interview with RFK Jr. last night, only to find that Junior’ is far more LIBERAL than Maher and, in fact, far more LIBERAL than anyone running as a Democrat, including West and Stein. Yet despite this, he has no hope as a Democrat because they were able to use their typically Fascist tactics of repression and throw him out of the Party, like a dog, because he was taking primary votes away from the worst President in the history of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden. So now, Juniors’ a so-called Independent, but he’s not, he’s a Radical Left Lunatic, but trying to have it all ways. He said that “No Vaccine is safe and effective,” and then said “I would never say that, I’m not anti-vaccine!” Where did that come from? Maher defended the vaccine, which Junior’ actually seemed to agree with (WOW!), and then told him that his poll numbers have crashed. No Republican can vote for this guy. MAGA2024!

Given the Big Pharma ties of Trump’s PAC manager, Susan Wiles, it is worth asking: Are Trump’s statements on vaccine safety “fake”?
