Oprah Winfrey, the renowned media mogul and philanthropist, was recently hospitalized after suffering from a severe stomach bug. The news was disclosed by her close friend and CBS Mornings anchor, Gayle King, during a broadcast on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
King explained that Oprah had been slated to appear on the show to promote a new book by author David Wroblewski, which she had recently included in her famous book club. However, Oprah’s unexpected illness prevented her from making the scheduled appearance.
“She had some kind of stomach thing - stomach flu - stuff was coming out of both ends. I won’t get too graphic,” King stated. “Needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration, had to get an IV. It was a very serious thing.”
