UK's Infected Blood Scandal Unveiled: Thousands Exposed to Deadly Infections Through Government Negligence
Inquiry findings reveal deliberate cover-ups and failures by authorities, leading to thousands of deaths and lifelong illnesses, sparking calls for justice and compensation for victims.
A recent investigation into the U.K.’s infected blood scandal has uncovered a shocking revelation: British authorities and the health service knowingly put thousands of patients at risk of deadly infections through tainted blood and products. This scandal, spanning from the 1970s to the early 1990s, has resulted in an estimated 3,000 deaths and countless lifelong illnesses, marking it as one of the most catastrophic incidents in the history of Britain's National Health Service.
The people affected by the contaminated blood and blood products were exposed to HIV and hepatitis. Specifically, around 1,250 individuals with bleeding disorders, including 380 children, were infected with HIV-tainted blood products, and up to 5,000 others who received the blood products developed chronic hepatitis C, a type of liver infection. Additionally, an estimated 26,800 individuals were infected with hepatitis C after receiving blood transfusions.
In the 1970s, hemophilia patients in the UK received a new treatment imported from the US. The plasma used came from high-risk donors, such as prison inmates, who were compensated for their blood donations.
An inquiry into the U.K.’s infected blood scandal revealed that British authorities and the public health service knowingly exposed thousands of patients to deadly infections and then covered it up. The report highlighted failures by successive governments and medical professionals to prioritize patient safety, with deliberate attempts to conceal the truth and destruction of documents.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak issued an apology, calling it a “day of shame for the British state,” and pledged a compensation package of £10 billion. Campaigners, after years of fighting for justice, hope for accountability for those responsible, despite the passage of time.

One of the ways you could tell “the pandemic” was fake is they never screened blood donations
